Provincial Nominee Programs

Expand your opportunities to settle in Canada with Provincial Nominee Programs

With the shared jurisdiction system between Ottawa and other provinces, the Canada Immigration system offers Provincial Nominee Programs for skilled workers at federal and provincial levels. Through this program, all the ten provinces and three territories of Canada can nominate skilled worker candidates for admission to Canada. Successfully nominated candidates can then easily apply for Canadian permanent residency.

Understanding the PNP immigration

This program is for the:
● The worker must have the work experience, education, and skill to contribute to the economy of particular territory or province.
● He/she is willing to live in that province.
● He/she wants to become a permanent resident of Canada

Every province and territory has its own immigration programs that target certain groups and requirements. Their individual programs are known as “streams”. In a program stream, provinces and territories may target:
● Students
● Business people
● Skilled workers
● Semi-skilled workers

Anyone who wants to add value to their economy and find oneself to become a valuable asset for a particular province/territory can apply for PNP. Most of the skilled worker applies for the following Canadian territories under this program:
● Alberta
● British Columbia
● Ontario
● Saskatchewan
● Manitoba

Understanding the choices of the Canada PNP application process

You can apply for Provincial Nominee Program via any of the following two processes. It also depends on which stream you are applying for.

● Paper-based process
After your nomination in this process, you need to submit a paper application for permanent residence to immigration, refugees, and citizenship Canada. It is longer than the express entry process.
● Online through express entry
You can create your ExpressEntry profile and show your interest. Province will send you a notification of interest and you can contact them directly or if you get nominated it will offer it to you in your account to proceed further online.
You will have to go through a medical exam and get a police check (certificate). Everyone who plans to live in Canada has to clear these phases no matter where they want to live.
